The KZ tank Full send !

KZ tank part 2......  Well I got the dent out. Unfortunately the steel was to strong for my dent puller. It broke. So I resorted to welding tabs onto the tank and making a puller. This has moved metal but its tough! So, in order of severity I tried; Glue and slide hammer Heat and ice ( this worked a little ) Air pressure ( this had no effect except to raise the seam and spread the tank Even though I had ratchet straps holding the tank shape .. ) Air pressure, heat and Ice … nothing Welding studs to the dent and using a slide hammer ( this moved some metal but broke my slide hammer) welding studs, slide hammer, heat and ice. ( this worked but the metal was too tough so only small movement in the metal ) welding studs , a 12mm dia stud puller, air pressure , heat and ice ….( finally I could move things As of today, I have the basic shape in place, lots of little tiny dings and dents that need to be smoothed off, Ill t...

When in doubt , Send it

I have a tank to repair.    The bike was crashed during a race and the poor fella used his knee to remodel the tank.  Small dents are ok and not much of a problem but this one has a LOT of metal to move.  Its no tappy tappy here.   and this is AFTER I took the creases out.   If I can return this tank to a usable condition it will be a minor miracle.
